“The boys cant play – Couldn’t win a simple match”

“The park is littered with paper… cant they even clean it properly”

“What a waste of time – I could have done this better than them”

Oooooffff --- don’t want to spoil the mid-week but these are just a few type of criticisms we hear quiet often

--Things don’t go as desired, and we start criticizing the person responsible for it

--Day doesn’t go well- we blame and criticize the person whom we saw on the mirror first

--Get stuck in a jam and the criticism for the government and what not flows more easily than the traffic

It is so easy for us to criticise that we often forget that we may the reason of the problem, or the problem may be a very temporary one or a minuscule one – ๐˜ฃ๐˜ถ๐˜ต ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ด๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ข๐˜บ ๐˜ค๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜บ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ!!

But beyond criticism what can we do?

So here’s a mid week pause :

๐Ÿ‘‰ Beyond criticism… what action can we take to make things better?

Doing a car pool to avoid jams, cleaning the area once an event is done, helping the organisers rather than criticising the mismanagement, encouraging what ever is being done,

--looking at the good side of things rather than focusing on the bad things only.

So much could be done to make things better than to criticise

Because spectators criticise.

Contributors execute.

And progress is always built by contributors.

This weekend, I participated in an inter-society women’s cricket tournament and our society’s internal badminton tournament.

It left me with mixed emotions — ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ “๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ช๐˜ง ๐˜ช๐˜ต ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ ๐˜จ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ”, ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ง ๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ท๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜บ, ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ด, ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ข๐˜ฃ๐˜ฐ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ, ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฒ๐˜ถ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ต ๐˜ด๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ง๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ถ๐˜ฑ.

A conversation with a friend followed — about whether one should appear for a game only after sufficient practice, versus taking the courage to participate anyway. The debate ended over a cup of tea, with wins and losses momentarily

forgotten — but the thought stayed with me.

Practice matters.

In sports, academics, or any field — practice helps us learn, improve, and perform better. Stepping into a tournament or exam without enough preparation may not always give the desired results.

At the same time, quitting something altogether because we feel “out of practice” isn’t the answer either. Along with FOMO, we may regret not showing up — missing the chance to learn, the experience, the fun, and the possibility of surprising ourselves.

๐—”๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—น๐˜†, ๐—œ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ’๐˜€ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ต — practicing to be better and showing up despite imperfections.

Maybe it depends on the situation and what’s at stake. Sometimes we need to be fully prepared. And sometimes, it’s enough to just be present.

Because showing up is often the first win. ๐ŸŒฑ

๐Ÿ️Last month I went on a vacation to the beautiful country of Sri Lanka. It was an amazing visit in a land full of greenery, fresh air, sea, hills, history and wonderful architecture. The country being a blend of village life and the modern amenities of life.

As I explored its landscapes, I also learned about Sri Lanka’s past—how it was ruled by the Portuguese, then the Dutch, and later the British. The architecture tells this story clearly. Foreign influences are visible in food, habits, and everyday life, showing how a country and its people transform when outsiders arrive and settle.

Even in India, many habits, rules, and systems still reflect the era of British rule.

History reminds us that when countries experience invasions or foreign influence, their culture, architecture, and way of life inevitably change. Some influences enrich a nation; others slowly erode its originality.

✨Isn’t this the same with us humans also?

So often we get influenced or ‘invaded’ by thoughts of others.

--We allow other people’s opinions, lifestyles, and choices to enter our mental space and shape how we think and behave.

--We get influenced with what others are doing, how they are living their lives, and try to replicate or adopt it without considering our own thoughts or way of lives.

--We start comparing, copying, and adopting—often without pausing to ask whether it aligns with who we truly are.

And just like a country or city, we change - sometimes the change is a positive one and helps us to grow – But when it makes us lose ourselves, when our originality fades and we become a version shaped entirely by others, that invasion is not a healthy one.

Blindly copying, constantly getting influenced or being invaded by what and how others think and not using one’s own mind or simply following what others are saying, is not something which makes us grow. Having one’s own opinion, voice, brain and using it wisely does.

So pause and ask yourself:

Who is invading your thoughts—and are you allowing it?

Start of the year and a wonderful event being hosted in my city Pune- ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฃ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—š๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ง๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ - India’s first UCI 2.2-category men’s multi-stage continental cycling race and a major milestone for the sport in the country. The event began with a short prologue before moving into four demanding stages that test sprinting, climbing and race strategy.

While cycling as a sport may not be so much popular in our country, but cycling is!!

Visible less now, a cycle has been the most convenient mode of transport- be it in villages or cities- one can spot people cycling to work, school, vendors distributing goods. Cycle was a prized gift on birthdays and good school results.

With time, cycles gave way to faster two-wheelers and cars. Roads became crowded, riding became unsafe. Cycles evolved too — from simple black frames to multi-gear, electric, colourful, more comfortable versions.

As a kid I spent hours riding my red cycle – running errands, just cycling with friends, going nowhere in particular – a cycle has always been by my side for a very long period of time.

With time, it was replaced by a two -wheeler and then a car took, but cycling was always an activity which I immensely loved. After a long gap, I purchased a cycle few years ago – I may not ride it regularly, but whenever I do, it feels familiar — like coming home.

However one may look at cycling, but it teaches few very important life lessons

๐ŸšฒWhen I initially learnt cycling, there were many instances when I lost balance, fell down, wobbles, got up and moved on – isin't that the  ‘cycle’ of our lives?

๐ŸšฒCycle also means ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ – ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜๐˜„๐—ผ ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐˜€ – ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜๐˜„๐—ผ ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€ – good and bad, too much and too less, too busy and too free- maintaining the right balance in life in whatever you do is important

๐ŸšฒCycle denotes circle and repetition – same things going in a circle- most of our lives – we are following the same routine – night comes after day, failure comes after a success – but what do we do of this repetition or circle – how we take it up is what defines us

๐ŸšฒA cycle also teaches you quietly. No engine. No shortcuts. Just effort. You push the pedal — it moves. You stop — it doesn’t.

๐ŸšฒA cycle also reminds us: Progress is personal. Speed is optional.  Consistency is everything.

Keep pedaling – your balance will come!!

✨New year, a new start, new month and a head full of new thoughts!!

How did you start your year? Rather end the last year?

I am sure all of us have had a roller coaster year - some good moments some tough ones, plenty of learnings and some mistakes on the way...

And as we stepped into the new year, we carried with us a quiet resolve—to make it better than the last

Many of us would have made resolutions, many would have just let it come as is

Few celebrated the new year loud and long... Few like me quietly welcomed the new year quietly enjoying at home

I remember the new year celebrations when I was a kid.

My father used to bring lots of goodies to eat. We used to plan to stay awake till midnight. The TV channel at that time used to show some wonderful programmes which continued till midnight. These were enjoyed with these goodies along with a flask full of tea. The news channel (DD1 at that time) used to show the highlights of the year gone by - this always was a special attraction.

Most of the time, I used to doze off and the goodies would patiently wait the next day.

The 1st day of the year was spent going out for a family picnic to a nearby spot or the city zoo. Thus, we used to bid goodbye to the last year and welcome the new year

Over time, rituals changed.

--TV programmes gave way to movies and series.

--Entertainment options multiplied.

--But the goodies stayed.

--The picnic stayed—at least for a long while.

Even today, 31st night is spent at home watching some series or movie and then watching the fire crackers outside along with the ping ping of WhatsApp messages.

The 1st is quieter - visiting the temple or a quiet outing

Whatever may be the way of celebration, but the excitement and joy of the moment remain still the same -

-- A moment to reflect on the year gone by.

-- A chance to live each day a little differently.

-- To try and do better than yesterday.

-- To be a better version of ourselves.

The magical December

 ๐–๐ž๐๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐๐š๐ฒ ๐–๐ก๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ # 174

December feels like that friend who shows up unannounced but somehow makes everything better.

There’s something really different about December.

The air feels softer, the light feels warmer, and somehow everything feels a little slower.

December isn’t a loud month. It doesn’t push you.

It gently taps your shoulder and says, “Hey, look how far you’ve come.”

It’s the month where we wrap up work, but also quietly unwrap parts of ourselves.

We think about the goals we achieved, the ones we didn’t, the risks we took, and the lessons we weren’t prepared for.

One minute you’re stressing about deadlines, targets, and unfinished to-do lists, and the next minute you’re, overthinking the entire year while pretending to enjoy a cup of “calm down” tea. ๐Ÿ˜„

December has this funny way of slowing us down without asking for permission.

It gives us permission to pause without guilt.

To sit with a cup of tea a little longer.

To scroll a little less and reflect a little more.

It’s also the month of mixed emotions — happiness, nostalgia, tiredness, gratitude… all showing up together, like guests who didn’t RSVP but you welcome them anyway. ๐Ÿ˜„

It’s the month where:

Work feels like it’s on low battery mode ๐Ÿ”‹

Diets are postponed to “next year” ๐Ÿซ

And emotions show up like surprise guests who decide to stay for dinner.

But honestly, that’s what makes December beautiful. It doesn’t ask you to be perfect.

It only asks you to be honest with yourself.

It doesn’t tell you to fix everything.

It simply reminds you that you did your best with what you knew at that time.

You don’t need a new version of yourself right now.

You just need to be a little softer with the current one.

December is also De-cember?

The month that quietly teaches us to detach and declutter.

Not just our homes,

but our minds, our hearts, and our expectations.

De-cember gently asks:

What are you still holding onto that you don’t need to carry forward?

-Old grudges.

-Expired friendships.

-Unnecessary comparisons.

-Self-doubt that overstayed its welcome.

This month feels like nature’s soft reminder to lighten the load.

-Declutter your space.

-Detach from what drains you.

-Delete the pressure of being perfect.

Because not everything deserves a comeback in the new year.

So while you slow down, reflect on the year , plan for next year, spend some time to relax and have a power reset of your self- let yourself arrive in the next year – slowly, gently and fully

While the whistle take a break for few days to come up with more ideas, wishing happy holidays, happy December and a blessed new year!! May we whistle more positivity and happiness in the year to come!!!

⚡"Ah the maid ditched me!! Had to take leave today when it's a full packed day" thought the furious lady... Having a full packed schedule but missing maid....
Suddenly she remembered the app her friend was talking about. She pulled out her phone and with a click booked a maid/ house help. Her day was sorted now ...phewww.. "

⚡“Soni had just shifted to her new home.. it was a newly built building in the outskirts of the city. Every thing was good just that there was only one grocery shop nearby which opened late during the day. " How will I get my morning tea if fresh milk is not available in the morning... “ was the question in her mind as she walked towards her parking.
She saw a small poster about an app delivering milk and other essentials. She immediately checked and took the subscription- which solved her problem”

⚡“Ajay had a meeting on the other side of the city- his back pain was back again and he was in no mood to drive such a long distance. His wife suggested the car pool group and he immediately checked and got a ride-problem solved

In all the above cases, people had problems – big or small. They were worried how to resolve it.
And there was a solution – someone thought about this problem, went ahead to find a solution and then made the solution available to everyone.
The solution was there but others were so focused on the problem that they never thought of thinking a solution.
Someone did.

Life is full of problems and so it is full of solutions.
It’s only a matter of thinking about the solution rather than focusing on the problem only.

Sometimes the solution is already around us —
in a conversation,
a suggestion,
a tool,
a person,
or simply a change in perspective.

We can find a solution thinking about it – for ourselves and sometimes for the greater community as well.
We keep complaining about things, but how often we try to find some solutions serving the society.
How often we start thinking positively in the direction of resolving rather than complaining.
When we start thinking positively, creatively, and constructively,
we move from being problem finders to solution creators.

And that’s where real progress begins.

I leave you to this problem free ๐‘พ๐’†๐’… ๐Ÿ˜Š
