Ting ting ….. One message received

𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 # 110

Ting ting ….. One message received – I received a WhatsApp message which took me back to the ting ting days – the days of SMS

Those were the days when calls were more important and expensive too 😉- SMS was a savior then but that too at a cost.

I still remember when I got my first phone – it was a birthday present from family - more to stay in touch with me while I was hopping from coaching to office to home during my CA days – there was so much excitement in selecting a phone – there weren’t many options and Nokia was always a clear choice. Activating a number also took time and involved formalities.
And finally on the day of my birthday I had it in my hand. And then started the charm of SMS. An easy way to stay in touch with friends who had moved out, cousins staying in different cities and of course wishing during the festivals. But one had to think before sending even one message as it costed and was not free. You couldn’t just send a ‘hi’ and waste one whole sms !!! 😄 There were special SMS packs which offered n number of sms at a lower rate. I had to do some extra home tasks to get that extra bucks to get those packs 😒

It was a time when calls or face to face meeting were considered more important and meaningful. Everyone did not have a mobile phone. And those who had did not have the need to protect the phone or sms with multi layered security 😉. Sending a message to convey something was sufficient and a reply was not expected or at-least not immediately- stress free messaging 😊

With time technology changed- phones underwent a major change – the push button phones became smarter and brought several other features along with them.
And along came the instant messaging apps….. where you were chatting and not messaging – chatting as if you were face to face – why to meet the person then!!

Times changed, features of these apps changed…. You could see when the person was online, whether your message was read or not…. Read only by the person it was meant for through multiple security options. 🤷- with all these advanced features complication also increased….. the stress and overthinking by many …. The need to receive the reply at the earliest, if not something is definitely wrong…. And what not…..

This is applicable for many other things of those days and now
It was easier when it was simpler definitely more convenient now but with its own set of complications …..

I leave you to this nostalgic thought on this 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚........ 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒈𝒖𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌... 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆... 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 '𝒃𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒔' 𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒆 '𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝑮𝒐𝒅' 𝒇𝒐𝒓! 😊

Something Unique...

𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 # 109

What

is something unique about you? Or about your business? Or about anything that you do?

As I resume writing the Wednesday Whistles, this thought came to my mind ... What is something unique about it? Is there something unique or not? If not, what can be done to make it unique.... And then my thoughts drifted to things unique seen or experienced by me.

I ordered food and coffee from 2 different outlets during the course of past 2 months - each came with its own type of surprise. The coffee I ordered had a beautiful note on how best to enjoy it. It was a typed one but it seemed so caring that I kept it with me. Few days back I had ordered burger from a not so known food joint – the chef sent a hand written note mentioning her name and that hope I loved the burger and can share my reviews on the food delivery app. Both these outlets won my heart. They not only served food but also took care or ensured that the customer loved it not only for its taste but also for their special gesture. They went a step ahead to make food ordered from them unique!

A friend who sells sarees and other clothing materials, brings together unique and different collections. She connects with different vendors across the country to get variety and differentiation in the clothes. She carefully selects the designs and colours which will appeal to the customers and makes them available. In addition, her personalised advice on what suits a person more adds to the charm and uniqueness. A person who would once buy some clothing material from her, would definitely want to go back because of the uniqueness being offered!

A shopkeeper selling groceries always treats his customer with a pleasant smile irrespective of the rush or chaos.

We all love to read a book, story or watch a movie or web series which is unique in its story line or concept. We love to eat food that is unique in one way or the other. Visit new or unique places

We love uniqueness as seen in above examples but don’t find or forget the uniqueness in us or the things we do….  Each of us are unique in our own way but often forget to celebrate it

So how are you unique?  Do you know your uniqueness? If not find out and celebrate it !!!

Meanwhile, do let me know what thing unique you find these whistles 😉

I leave you to this thought on this rainy 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚........ 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒈𝒖𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌... 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆... 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 '𝒃𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒔' 𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒆 '𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝑮𝒐𝒅' 𝒇𝒐𝒓! 😊
