The charm and excitement of once in a while……

 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 # 103

The charm and excitement of once in a while……

While munching on Gujhiyas and other delicacies on this Holi, I was taken back as always to my childhood days. Holi a festival of colours, a time when one could enjoy – the festival, changing weather, the different delicacies being prepared, and the family get togethers. This and all the other festivals were occasions when we got new clothes, some delicacies and sweets were prepared at home, some new household items were bought, some renovation or repairs done to make the home tidier and more beautiful and a time when the entire family was together.

As kids we waited for these special occasions – be it birthdays, festivals or weddings or any such special occasion at home which ensured something new, something different. This new and different was the spice of our lives. The new clothes bought during these festivals were cherished and taken care of. The sweets and delicacies were enjoyed immensely. Any new house hold item bought during any of the festival was a treasure. The family gatherings were not captured on selfies but in the hearts to be remembered forever. Many a times we as kids also got money on these festivals which went into our piggy banks and increased our wealth 😉

These occasions were valued and treasured and perhaps the reason why we so fondly remember them. We waited and made elaborate plans of doing xyz things.

With time these special occasions continued but the charm of doing special things faded away- life became a little easier - clothes are bought anytime and based on needs, sweets are either not eaten at all or can be ordered online rather than making at home. We seldom wait for a festival to buy a household product – rather wait for the sale days. Family gatherings are still there but are now more frequently and easily done on WhatsApp or through other quicker channels.

The charm of once in a while is lost – things are more convenient now – no doubt- but the wait for those special moments has gone missing….

I leave you to this thought…. On this post Holi 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚... 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒈𝒖𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌... 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆... 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 '𝒃𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒔' 𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒆 '𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝑮𝒐𝒅' 𝒇𝒐𝒓! 😊

Everyone has a different journey... A different story

𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 # 102

Everyone has a different journey... A different story

‘A was an average student. She was not a rank holder but scored well in her subjects. On the other hand, B topped all the exams all the subjects and was the favourite student among all. At present A is heading her company's HR function and B runs her own business’

‘C was smaller in height and had low confidence. After few years he became a tall handsome man who could sway the energy in his favour’

‘D had been trying since past many years to crack that exam but was not able to do so. He did so later than his peers but moved ahead comfortably in his career path

‘E is a homemaker. She worked for few years earlier and now is happy at home spending time with family. F never gave up her job and became CEO of a company at a very young age

Above are all different journeys of different people... Some of a similar background to each other, similar times and circumstances but each has his/her own journey, own story. Some start early, some start late, some reach early and some reach late. Some are quicker some are slower. Some face a lot of hardships while for some life is easy peasy. Some are well to do and the other may not. Some have good health some may be suffering from some issues. Some are well settled in family life and others may be doing good in career. So many different permutations and combinations of people and their life journeys and stories. So different yet vibrant. Simple yet interesting. Exciting for some and little routine for others.

Each journey has something to say, to show and learn. Just look around and see the wonderful journeys going around…. Some running, some walking, some going with the flow and some carefully planned… While you are on the journey of your own, respect the journey of others- they may be different but each one is beautiful in its own way!!!

I leave you to this thought…. Love, cherish and enjoy your journey as well as of others… on this beautiful 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚... 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒈𝒖𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌... 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆... 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 '𝒃𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒔' 𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒆 '𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝑮𝒐𝒅' 𝒇𝒐𝒓! 😊

𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧... 𝐎𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭??

𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧... 𝐎𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭??

It is a common saying that first impression is the last impression. And so often we try to create the best first impression - whether it is an interview, a meeting or just a friendly catch-up. We would dress up well, behave well, follow all the

necessary etiquettes to create that first and lasting impression. And it does work... specially if you going to meet a person for the first time and there are chances of not meeting again- like an interview or any such meeting where second meeting may be a far possibility- because the person does not get a chance to create another impression

But many times a first impression of a person is not the last one... Person may be different and true self on second and subsequent meetings.... And that impression may be poles apart from the first one. I have met many such people who on first meeting appeared snob or rude or strict but on subsequent meetings we became really good friends. And vice versa as well 😉. Even people meeting me for the first time will get a totally different impression about me 😉

A few moments to few hours may not be sufficient to know a person and the perspective for that person changes as you meet and talk more... Many a times people are a little hesitant or shy or are appearing neutral without knowing the person. They put a guard and don't let it down till they know the person well. Sometimes the situation may be such that you can't show your true self... You may be in a serious meeting or a formal setup and may have to behave that way. This also holds true when you meet a person not face to face but interact through phone or email.

I have started looking at the impression created after the first meeting and always do not accept the first impression as is. For some people it remains the same for others it may change.... So, if I have to continue association with a person I may ignore the first impression all together.

Let me know what you think about it as I leave you to this thought on this hot busy 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚... 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒈𝒖𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌... 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆... 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 '𝒃𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒔' 𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒆 '𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝑮𝒐𝒅' 𝒇𝒐𝒓! 😊

𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 # 100

The journey of life or journey of journeys…….

They say life is a journey… I feel life is full of several journeys.

When you are born and start your life, when you start studying, start working, move ahead in life. Each chapter is a journey in itself.

For some journeys the destination is more important, for others the journey itself is beautiful.

Few are full of challenges, few are 𝘣𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘬𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘮 (super smooth). You meet people, get experiences, learn new things, unlearn many, move up, move ahead. Ultimately it is how you took the journey which matters the most. You reach the ultimate destination or not, whether you took the journey happily, positively and with enthusiasm is what matters the most. How you took the challenges, the failures, the blockages and the successes is what makes the journey more meaningful.

Amongst my many journeys in this journey of life – is this beautiful whistling journey of Wednesday Whistles. One of the most beautiful, interesting and enriching – and it is ongoing.

I have had interest in writing since a long time and write poems on and off. But I never took it up seriously or consistently until I decided to write every Wednesday. I got inspired for this on a training program, thought of giving it a try and write something every week. I started publishing it every week on LinkedIn and then moved to Facebook as well to let family members and friends not on LinkedIn read it as well.

I started it which was the first and most important step in any journey- to start. Many times we keep thinking of doing something but don’t start for several reasons. How hard it may appear, taking the first step is the biggest step.

I wrote without thinking of what people will think- how they will perceive. It was my journey not theirs and perception of things varies from person to person. What one may think or like may be different for others.

I wrote consistently – There were days where I could not write every week but that gap was less. I tried to write every week – consistency is what kept this habit going.

This habit widened my perspective as well. I look at things differently now. I think on thoughts which I would have ignored earlier. Past experiences or incidents in my whistles have helped me learn from them. Childhood memories in the whistles have brightened up my day. Corporate learnings in my whistles have given a boost to my professional growth. And above all the several positive comments or thoughts of friends and well wishers makes my Wednesday more brighter. My parents and family members wait for the whistle to be published. I even got a panic call from my sister one Wednesday when I couldn’t write checking if everything was alright 😉

I never thought I will go this far but now I wish to move further and beyond 😊

Any journey which you have in mind, but cant take up- just start- take the first step. It could be fitness journey, or journey of art or any other passion – start and enjoy the journey- learn from it and celebrate yourself!!

I leave you at this to let you start your journey in this journey of life on this very beautiful and 100th 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚... 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒈𝒖𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌... 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆... 𝑵𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 '𝒃𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒔' 𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒆 '𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝑮𝒐𝒅' 𝒇𝒐𝒓! 😊
